Akkineni started his education at Chaitanya Vidyalaya and then traveled to Australia for two years. Upon his return, he continued his studies at Oakridge International School in Hyderabad.

At age 16, Akkineni decided to pursue a career in acting and enrolled in an acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of South Florida.

Career

Akhil debuted onscreen as an infant in his father’s production Sisindri (1995), and went on to make a cameo appearance in the much-loved family drama, Manam (2014).

In 2015, Akhil made his lead debut in Akhil, directed by V.V. Vinayak. Unfortunately, the film failed at the box office despite high expectations. Following this, he took a two-year hiatus. In 2017, he appeared in Hello, which was directed by Vikram Kumar. Despite garnering generally positive reviews, it too was a below-average grosser at the box office. His third film, Mr. Majnu (2019), was directed by Venky Atluri and co-starred Niddhi Agerwal. Although the pre-release buzz was great and the album was successful, it opened to mixed reviews and ultimately failed.

Finally, in October 2021, Akhil’s fourth film, Most Eligible Bachelor co-starring Pooja Hegde and directed by Bhaskar was released. This time around, it was a hit and gave Akhil a long-awaited box office success. Akhil has proved that he is capable of delivering success with his acting talent and versatility
