Neeraja Reddy, an Indian politician and former member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, passed away on Sunday in a tragic car accident. Reddy, who was from the Alur constituency in the Kurnool district, was travelling from Hyderabad to her hometown when her vehicle overturned near Jogulamba Gadwal, Telangana. Reddy driver was injured in the accident but is reportedly out of danger now. Following news of her death, leaders from both the BJP and the Congress expressed their condolences. Reddy will be remembered for her selfless service.
Neeraja Reddy has had an impressive political career beginning in 2009 when she was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Indian National Congress (INC). In 2011, Reddy resigned from the INC and distanced herself from politics. After 8 years, she returned to the political arena and joined the YSRCP in 2019. Later in 2020, Reddy joined BJP again.

Neeraja Reddy, the former Alur MLA, passed away on 16 April 2023, while receiving treatment at a hospital in Kurnool, India. The cause of her death was a road accident in Itikyala village in the Gadyal Jogulamba district. According to Kodandapuram police, Reddy was travelling from Hyderabad to Kurnool when the back tyre of the car burst and caused the speeding SUV to turn over and crash into the farmlands next to national highway 44. She took her last breath at Sri Chakra Hospital.
Neeraja Reddy was a widow, who lost her husband Patil Seshi Reddy in a faction attack in 1996. Patil Seshi Reddy had served as Pathikonda MLA, though not much information is available about his political involvement or their children.
