David Mitchell, better known as D. Smooth, is an American singer and songwriter who gained fame after appearing as a contestant on Season 23 of NBC’s singing competition show The Voice, which is judged by Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan. He lives in Birmingham, Alabama.

Who is D. Smooth?

D. Smooth was born on September 28, 1997 in Alabama. He is currently 26 years old. He is graduated from Minor High School, Alabama in 2016.

At this time last year, he was gearing up for his debut in the touring musical theater production, “Grown Man Issues.” He later uploaded an impressive performance video from the show on his page. He has since been in a production titled “Soul Food”.

In 2023, he came into limelight after performing Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” during The Voice Blind Auditions. He got two chair turn from Kelly and Niall but later decided to join Team Kelly for the show.

He is a fitness enthusiast and refers to himself as a “gym rat”.


About the Season 23 of The Voice:

The Voice returned with a brand new installment. This season will feature some of the best and brightest singing talent from all over the country, as well as a star-studded line-up of coaches which include Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, Chance The Rapper and OG coach Blake Shelton who will be bidding farewell to his long-time tenure after this season.
